The Skyline Hotel is located in a neighborhood known as Clinton - and historically as Hell's Kitchen.
"West Side Story" was filmed only a few blocks down the Street. This once "notorious" neighborhood has
changed dramatically within the last few years. Tree lined streets, flower gardens and window boxes are
seen in this once infamous rough area of docks, ships and immigrants.
This is not to say shipping is no longer a part of this historic area. Now major passenger ships dock from
mid-March through mid-October at the new Cruise Terminal a few blocks away. This neighborhood also is home
to many recording studios such as Sony Records and Hit Factory, where John Lennon was recording on the night he was killed.
